Still Open | 05.15.2011 | Aven - We are still open for business! But updates are going to come VERY slow for a while longer. however, I refuse to close the site down and will update it as time allows. Feel free to keep RPing those of you with muse to do so. Personal Text | 05.o5.2011 | Aven - I need everyone to do me a huge favor! In order for the Shop Code to be re-used I'm having to start from scratch to code it for the new layout. Its a pain, because some of the Old Shop code is still floating around the forum. Where is it? Well its actually in your profiles. I need EVERYONE to go in and "Modify Profiles" for EACH ACCOUNT. Once there, DELETE the "Personal Text" information, and DO NOT put anything else there. I'll be trying to get to whom I can, but it'll be easier on me if everyone does this. Some of you won't have anything, you are safe - others will have codes like @#$^^% or something in their personal text box. THAT MUST BE REMOVED! Thank you so much for support and co-operation.

Back In Action | 05.04.2011 | Aven -We're back and better than ever! After a long awaited revival after some RL issues, Ataria will resume full operation. We've got a new layout, some minor changes to staffing, a rendition of classes on the way, the exposure of some key elements in the Secrets of Ashenia sub-plot. The Shop will be down for a moment or so while we fix the money problem, but everyone will be refunded their Ren in addition to a bonus gifted by the admins when the shop opens. That being said the Easter Event will remain open until the end of May so don't be upset if you missed out on purchasing eggs during the downtime. We've extended it to accommodate when the shop is down. Character and Member of the month polls have been fixed and are operational, cast your vote now! And look out Ataria fans, time to get things rolling!

Class Changes | 04.13.2011 | Aven - Tomorrow evening we'll be rolling out full changes to the Classes allowed on Ataria. That will include a few new additional classes, as well as a rendition of the class existing. We'll be adding rules for each class, as well as customs and traditions we would like people who choose a certain class to follow. This is no an attempt to limit your character customization, but a way to refine players and keep one class's styles of play from spilling into another...in other words, We are tired of seeing Black Guards (typical sword shield users) suddenly being proficient in stealth and archery. Just not gonna happen that way. Also on a side note, I promise I'll be making posts tomorrow to keep the story plot moving. I've got a couple changes that need to be made to update everyone on whats going on, but I will be posting I promise. Just been working soooo much.

Ad-Free | 04.12.2011 | Aven - As of today we are officially ad-free until the end of April, or until we reach 50,000 page views. With the month being half over its not a total plus that averages about hundreds of threads and forums within the board so it should last. To celebrate ad-free, we are continuing the Recruit-A-Friend service, awarding 25 Ren for Each member you bring to the site. The Ren will be funded to the character of your choice, and will be awarded the moment the member's application is accepted. So get out their and get us some members! We're wanting to top the charts, so I'll be spending a lot of time updating, so any RP's I'm in right now my get a slow response. I apologies, just got a lot of work my way. ^.^

Aging System | 04.11.2011 | Aven - AS OF TODAY: All character's will BEGIN aging. Please if everyone would review the rules, under In Character Rules, the aging system has been put in place. Each age group now comes equipped with a length of time at which a character will be allowed to stay that age. Please keep track of your character's time spent at a specific age. Character's will begin aging upon being accepted into Ataria, as either NPC or Player Character's. This will allow a working birthing system in which case we have the privilege of celebrating out first pregnancy of the Mortria Queen. A chance to reflect on the systems functionality. Admins will be keeping tabs on ages, so try your best to in corporate an age tracker in your profile. Currently there is still no mixing of bloodlines, but that is in the process of being worked on. Enjoy a more realistic style of play, and please read over the changed rules.

Adoptions | 04.10.2011 | Aven - Tired of making random characters from scratch? Brain dead on your next big idea? Wanna get involved in a epic plottage without running into 800 different ongoing threads? Why not adopt? An adoption board has been added to the New Member's boards by our lovely Jojo. Here players can adopt out key members of plots, and story's, as well as adopt character's made by other players to get involved with the members of the site without the hassle of new character creation. Check the adoption board periodically to see whats available! Or submit one for approval and see who you can have join your RP. ^.^

Cotm, Motm | 04.08.2011 | Jojo - Character of the month, and member of the month nominations are up! Please check the 'News and updates' section for more details! Nominations will take place until the fifteenth. Polls(voting) will go up on the fifteenth, and will last until the twenty-seventh. Winners will be announced on the twenty-eighth. Easter Event 2011 | 04.08.2011 | Aven - Sorry to miss yesterday's announcement...I so sorry. BUT! I deliver EPICNESS!!! In celebration of Easter on Ataria we are having a Easter Egg contest-buy eggs-hunt-with prizes...thing. Bah, whatever! Its a really cool event that will be going on for a long while. For more information check any local town boards to hear the announcement, glance at the calender to see the update, or just mozy on over to the Out of Character News and see the official event thread...Additionally, this event is Hosted by Myself, so I'll be randomly locating items, and NO OTHER ADMINS will be helping run this event, so ALL STAFF is welcome to participate also on CHARACTER ACCOUNTS ONLY! Shopping Center Open! | 04.06.2011 | Aven - The shop is finally open and ready for business!! We have plenty of awesome items, but prices are high so get out their an RP to get some funds. BEFORE USING THE SHOP: please read the "The Shop System" in Player Guides to make sure you use the system correctly to avoid any glitches. If glitches happen often, please report them in the "Market District" under the "Customer Service" section by creating a new thread with the description of the issue and possible screen shots. We'll do our best to fix them or explain the best why to get around them! The Event items in the last section are for a specific April event starting in the next day or so. If you have ANY ideas on what types of items could be added to the shop, please let the staff know, or post in the suggestions forums so we can review them. ^.^ Enjoy! Also to help promot the site, for each member you bring to the site, we'll reward you 20 Ren when they make their first IC post!

New Messages | 04.05.2011 | Aven - I've recently added a message link in the top bar in place of a chat link that no one uses. This is for all the people who find it difficult to know they have new messages. You can hover over the message bar to see your total of new messages. In addition, while surfing the forum you'll periodically be shot a notice that lets you know you have a new message, with the option to go read it. By clicking "yes", you'll be taken to your inbox, by clicking "no" you'll be able to continue browsing without the notification. Should the new messaging system become a bother to members, please let a staff know so we can look at other options of message notification, and make the system better for you guys. Regardless, messaging should be easier now.

Ren | 04.04.2011 | Aven - To give Ataria more of an original and extraplanar feel, we've changed the money system a bit. From ths moment on, what originally was referred to as "Gold" is now considered "Ren". Ren is the universal currency used on Ataria, and a current history and understanding of ren is in the works. For now, while describing money in character, please keep this fact in mind, and you'll notice the changes made to the money section of you mini profile. On the same note, the shope system is working find, but still closed because we are lacking pictures to represent items. So don't be alarmed, and there is plenty of time left as many people can't purchase items right off the bat. But we are working to fix the image issue by getting icons made for the site.

Secrets of Ashenia | 04.03.2011 | Aven - Chapter 1 is finally up! Learn the Secrets of Ashenia by checking out the "Chronicles" section. In addition we've added the new ancient history section called "The Purge", which outlines the last few years of how the current rulers came to power. The Site-Wide Plot introduced in SoA is posted as an announcement on several boards for review and reminder to all the characters. The Shop will be delayed until later today, as I have to write up the guides to ensure we have as few complications with the system as possible. But by the end of today, the shop system will be up and underway. I don't expect much to be bought at the moment. We are also working on a system for Magic Items, which will allow character's to use spell/skill slots to have a magical weapon specific to your character. More information as we progress this week.

No Post Coming | 04.03.2011 | Usagi/Jojo - Posting comings are not allowed. Unlike some sites who may grant their members options to do this, we do not. For the reason that the gold system is based on posting in character. If you make a post coming, you still earn the gold for making an In-Character post. Also, this prevents others from entertaining the thread if need be without messing up post order. We disable post claims to avoid any complications in the fact of members potentially trying to earn that gold to simply buy something out of shop without actually earning it. If you wish to express your apologies, or notify the people in your thread please contact them through the private messenger system. Dragon's Cross | 04.02.2011 | Aven - The human lands of Damaria are now complete. I updated the new additions, and added the boards that they were missing. All that's left is the outlying islands and Torin Province. In addition, I'd like to make a Credit announcement in regards to the names used in the South Bahstet boards, and the Damaria kingdom (Sadiste, Dragon's Cross, and Damaria itself). The names and portions of the history pertaining them are credited to "Eric Gosier" the creator of "RPG Elegy", and original fantasy RP site back in early 2003. The RP was called "Dragon's Cross" and has since then died. In honor of what got me started on RPing, the Kingdom of Damaria and the coming history pertaining to its current condition (before Nathaniel's Rebellion), we were given permission to use tidbits from the Dragon Cross RP in the World of Ataria. Eric will be joining as his famous character "Seraph", so should you see him in the Cbox give him a shout and tell him thank you for letting us reflect on his work.

April Fools! | 04.01.2011 | Aven - Well, unfortunately I'm not coordinated enough to organize a April Fools prank! But still, happy April fools everyone, hope its a fun filled day for all of you. In Ataria news I've got all the information I need to release "Chapter 1", so expect that Sunday/Monday with the opening the Shop. Also, as the 1st of April we are currently starting to monitor player activity and character accomplishments. That being said, at the end of the month we'll be seeking Characters, Players, and running an activity check for the month of April. So be watching all the character's out there and we'll see who wins the last week of April. I've updated the races pages a bit, Abyssal's are complete, Elves and Humans are semi-up to date. Sylvan are going up last, and Therian are next. So keep checking those every now and then. ALSO: PLEASE! Put up some information in the suggestions board, I need to know what you guys like or dislike and what you wanna see. Tell your friends and everything about Ataria lets make magic!!!

Aging System | 03.31.2011 | Aven - I should have my ipod returned to me today. It has the fundamentals of aging and passing time in Ataria. Until I collectively develop the rate at which children will grow, I'm not going to enforce the aging process. That being said I ask that everyone please use age groups when referring to children, rather than overall numbers. Age groups allows us to classify characters by their maturity rather than actual number of years being alive. Considering the conditions on Ataria are not that of this world, the length of time even Humans spend on this earth is long. For those of you who feel the need to make several different characters, the aging process might never be an issue for you. But I feel its needed to keep the history expanding and evolving. For those of you not fond of the aging system - I'll do everything in my power to keep it from effecting the length of time your characters are alive, so you don't lose your character so quickly to age. More information when I get home.

Perks & Ranks | 03.30.2011 | Aven - Make sure you guys put your residence in the application. And unless you are approved by the current ruler of a Kingdom, you can't apply as a specific rank. Rank are appointed by the Kingdom Ruler and must happen In Character before we change it. Please see the "Appointed Ranks" section of the New Member's board to learn about the ranks. There are few missing perks, but the general idea is there, I'll finish that tomorrow. In terms of Perks, please try to avoid making spells that are associated with specific Perks. In addition, please review the combat rules to understand the usage of Perks. Perks are character attributes that cannot be countered by Spells. I'll be updating and working on them more tomorrow. For now I've added a few more guides, and tomorrow its back to the previous list for more updates. Keep the plots and updates going, and invite your friends. As I make more changes I'll inform you!

Additions | 03.29.2011 | Aven - So I work till 1pm Central today, meaning I'll be home early, and I have tomorrow off. Plenty of time to finish my list in the previous update. I've added City Hall Boards in each of the 4 Kingdoms, These Boards are going to be where records for the city are kept, and meetings with your ranked members and citizens will be held. I'm finishing up the Races Tonight with features like Classes, Racials, and Religion. Then I'll be adding the Hierarchy Section to display the Racial Government rankings. I've decided to put the Citizen ranks like Soldier., Assassin, Scion, etc in the New Member's Board, that way new members who automatically choose Denizen, or Citizen ranks can just see the different options to further a character's career. As always bring your friends, lets get this part started!

Proboards Downtime | 03.28.2011 | Aven - Minor set-back to our events for the week. Proboards has been experiencing some issues and trying their best to fix them. As this is a common issue we have to give them credit. I'll be working with some notepad documents so bare with me with updates to the content. I'm still going to throw everything together. Additionally, keep the look out for the big plot upcoming to start Role playing off, don't be afraid to gather up some friends and start some mini-plots. Proboards should be settling down here in a bit, in which case I'll update what I can and cross off the content I finish in the below update. So keep scrolling down and checking what changes.

Opening Day! | 03.28.2011 | Aven - Welcome New Members! Today marks the first of CoA! All the events that transpire this week, contests, awards implements, extra gold gain, and the beginning of Roleplaying adventures will lead up to Sunday's big finale, and the release of the Market!! So...what to you do? First off tell ALL your friends about us, so we can get this party started. All day my staff will be recruiting and accepting applications in order to increase the RP populations. Updates start at 6:00pm Central Standard Time. The following changes will be made upon that time today:

- City Hall Boards added to Kingdoms.

Charater Limitations | 03.27.2011 | Aven - A new section to the rules is being added. While we fully accept same sex relationships, we have to look at the races chosen to portray this. Abyssal society for example only has a 20% female population. Meaning 1 in every 5 male characters will be female. Currently we have 3 females and 1 male. Unfortunately I'll be working with those characters to see what we can do. In addition, I'm no longer allowing Female Abyssal characters until a few more males join. Please review the new rules section so you understand the rules on character creation. It will be updated as the day goes by so continue to check it when the recent threads on the side say its been modified. In good news, the "Getting Started" guide has been updated, in addition to the "Kingdom Guide" for all new rulers. Make sure you all check them out for me.

Monday | 03.26.2011 | Aven - GREAT NEWS! Been testing an RP and stuff to make sure the point system works. It does and should be pretty decent as far as it goes. I'm working on weather or not to reduce point consumption. I'll figure that out tomorrow. But as for Monday! MONDAY is the official release bash. The site is still ok to do test RP's, I'll take the current members as Beta testers, but Monday we roll out Full advertisement and information, so be prepared for Monday's event. More information on the event tomorrow, but once we swing wide Monday, we'll be ready to commence the Chapter 1 Plot and get ready for a really intense roller coaster. For now, just enjoy some free form Roleplaying while I get the rest of the content up.

New Members | 03.25.2011 | Aven - To all the new members, its obvious the site is still got a long way to go, and I understand the guide are incomplete. But I assure you activity will increase as we get underway. Site is still only 4 days old so there is no need to rush. I'll have guides refined by Monday I promise. In the mean time, please work on complete character profile, I ask that you don't come to me each time you need a spell approved, create your entire spell list and paste it. I will look it over when the application is complete and we'll go from there. But if I contact you for each spell one at a time I won't be able to finish the most important parts of the sites content. So please, if you are new READ everything. Even the things that don't pertain to you. Because I promise you'll know what to do. More information will be done later this evening. Roleplaying should be in full swing by Monday. <.< I'm testing out posting right now...

Applications | 03.24.2011 | Aven - Not a lot of activity on the first day, honestly I'm glad because we still have many updates. Classes, and Races are for teh most part up-to speed and only missing minor details. But MAGIC is DONE. PLEASE read the magic guide when creating spells. I know its long, but its easy to understand I promise. And when you create spells in your applications I ask that you be AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE because you will be limited to these abilities. Review the rules on God-Modding and Power-Playing to be sure your spells don't pertain to those groups. I'll PM you if you need changes, instead of plastering them all over your applications. I will also include examples to help you as I don't believe in being an ass about approving things. More updates on the site in general coming, should be fully functioning by this weekend. I ask most people spend more time perfecting character apps and profiles then actually RPing. But Roleplays are allowed for accepted apps.

Just an Update | 03.23.2011 | Aven - As of later this evening I should be able to allow Applications. At my say so, new members may join and work on character profiles to be place in the applications board. By the end of tonight the site should be well enough to roleplay on, but will still have a lot of updates to be done. One of which being the shop system. I ask that once the site does allow RPing, no one attempt to purchase any items, as they will be deleted and money not refunded. More updates later today.

Grand Opening Postponed | 03.22.2011 | Aven - The site is nearing the grand opening. We were suppose to open tonight but that didn't work out. We still have a few more kinks to work out, but I'm working diligantly to get it accomplished.
